Honestly, there are a lot of online education sources for kids. From Youtube to Khan Academy and a lot of paid options in between, you have a ton of options for educating your kids through the internet.
What we couldn’t find was a complete education for our kids that was video based (not app based), included hands-on learning (remember pencil and paper?), provided real teacher-student interaction, offered actual 1-1 teacher support without paying extra, and baked in some socialization experiences, too.
So we made Rooted Schoolhouse to provide that exact thing for our kids…and your kids, too.
Simply put, yes. Rooted Schoolhouse is designed to replace your child’s entire educational experience for the year.
We cover all of the core subjects (Math, English Language Arts, Science, Social Studies and History) and include learning and experience for social and emotional growth.
No, Rooted Schoolhouse is not a school.
It’s a resource for homeschool families who take personal responsibility for their child’s education. To that end, we provide support and documentation to help families comply with local and state guidelines for homeschooling.
Rooted Schoolhouse learners will spend about 1-2 hours per day engaged in learning activities. Those activities will include watching brief teaching videos, answering quiz questions, and completing simple assignments.

With Rooted Schoolhouse, there is no lesson planning for you.
Every subject is a little different in the number of lessons and assignments to complete each day. However, each subject includes instructions on the daily workload right at the top of the subject area page.
